Helping children say it through play.
Young children don't always have the words to explain what they're feeling, but they can show us through play. Play therapy uses toys, art, stories and games to help children express emotions, make sense of their experiences and learn new ways of coping, at their own pace and in a way that feels natural to them.
What happens in a session
Sessions take place in a welcoming, child-friendly space. Your child's therapist follows their lead through play while gently guiding the work toward the goals you've agreed on together. Over time, children build words for feelings, try out new ways of handling problems, and gain confidence.
Parents are part of the process
We meet with parents to understand your child's history and your concerns, share what we're seeing, and give you practical strategies to support your child at home. Many families pair play therapy with our parent coaching for extra support.
